Dan Duval

Dan Duval has been performing and teaching in the Portland Metro Region for over five years. After studying for two years at Berklee College of Music and soaking up Boston's fantastic music scene, he moved to Portland, OR to complete his Jazz Guitar Performance degree at Portland State University, where he studied with jazz greats Darrel Grant, Glenn Moore, Alan Jones, Jerry Hahn, and Dan Gildea. Dan has a deep understanding of music in theory and in practice, and his infectious enthusiasm creates a learning environment that's both friendly and productive. His lessons cover a wide range of subjects and styles, including jazz, rock, music theory, music technology and recording, rehearsal techniques, healthy technique, good practice habits, and much more. He has gigged with many great local groups (Andrew Oliver Sextet, Drew Shoals Collective, Fiction Junkies, Flatland, Double Dragon, Todd Bishop Ensemble, Portland Swing, and many more), at many great local venues (Jimmy Maks, The Blue Monk, The Someday Lounge, Safeway's "BITE" Festival, Mississippi Pizza, Tonic Lounge, Towne Lounge, Acme, Red and Black Cafe).
